Woman's Missionary
Union
Woman’s Missionary Union designed
Women On Mission to encourage women of all ages to grow in their
relationship to Christ and in their missions involvement. At the heart of
Women On Mission is the desire to invite and empower every woman to:
- recognize her status in Christ
- reflect the highest ideals of Christian
living
- see her life as set apart for the gospel
- find an entry point to fulfill Christ’s
purpose in her life
- affirm God’s call for her as an
individual and as a member of an organization with missions as its
purpose
- commit to a missions lifestyle that
overflows with enthusiasm and joy
- reach beyond herself with a global
vision
Here are some programs scheduled for
2001. Should you be interested in participating, please contact the church
office.
Women On Mission
On the third Saturday of
every month, the Women’s Prayer Group meets in the sanctuary at
10:00am to pray for our church, families, neighbors, community, nation, and
the world.
Areas of ministry that WMU
facilitates Mission Friends: Infants-Kindergarten. Wednesday 7:00 pm.
Mission focused fun through
learning centers and group time. The children learn the importance
of helping others and supporting missionaries through prayer
and giving.
Each month, the children participate in some type of "helping
others" activity. Some of these activities have included
tray cards, scripture candy, and making cookies for our church
staff.
We also have a parent & preschooler event twice each year.
Parents and preschoolers participate in a variety of activities
(art, blocks, nature, books, puzzles, cooking, and games) learning
about God, Jesus, prayer, and missions. Our next event will be
in December, "God's Winter Wonderland."
Girls in Action (GAs):
Girls - grades 1-6. Wednesday 7:00 pm.
Community ministry activities,
ministry to missionaries and mission focused prayer and giving.
The girls participate in a different ministry activity each month.
They have gone to nursing homes, homeless shelters, and sent
various gifts to the hospital and Bethlehem Mobile Home Park.
Girls-grades 7-12. Thursdays
7:00 pm.
Youth girls minister to the
church and community through activities which include puppet
ministry, back-yard Bible clubs, and mission study.
We are now learning Christian clowning, making balloon animals,
face painting, and juggling. We also tell Bible stories through
drama.
This summer, three Acteens and two leaders will serve as Acteen
Activators. They will serve the Home Mission field for seven
days in Charleston, S.C. by participating in construction events
and prayerwalking. Women on Mission Adult
women, ages 18-up On-going ministry and prayer groups
provide many opportunities for service both locally and abroad.
The Ministry Group is helping Rev. Steve Ray and his wife,
Marcia, at Bethlehem Mobile Home Park.
We also have a Creative Memories® scrapbook group, a cookie
ministry, and a prayer ministry. We are also starting a clown
ministry.
The Prayer Group meets on the third Saturday of every
month at 10:00 am in the Church sanctuary. We have done a
