Mission Statement

We believe the most important thing in life is to know and follow Jesus Christ.  We want to love the Lord and to live for Him.  We unashamedly preach and teach the Bible to learn more about Him, so that others may see Jesus in us!  We want others to know our Savior. That's why our mission statement is "Knowing Jesus & Making Him Known."

our church

what we believe

Mars Hill is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, Georgia Baptist Convention, and the local Appalachee Association. Our church affirms the Baptist Faith and Message

Scripture

The Bible was written by men who were divinely inspired, and it is God’s revelation of Himself to man. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction

GOD

There is only one living and true God who exists in three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. He is all-powerful, all-knowing, all-loving, and all wise.

JESUS

We believe that Jesus is the Son of God, was born of a virgin, was wholly God and wholly man, lived a sinless life, died in our place as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind, was buried, arose bodily from the grave, and ascended into Heaven.

HOLY SPIRIT

We believe that God the Holy Spirit is active in convicting and convincing unbelievers of their need for salvation and is the Comforter who lives in and strengthens believers to grow in holiness and in obedience to the commands of Christ.

MAN

We believe that man is a special creation of God, made in His image, but that through the sin of the first man, Adam, mankind fell so that all men are sinners and need salvation, which is found only in Christ.

THE CHURCH
A New Testament church is an autonomous local congregation of baptized believers with Jesus Christ as the Head, a place where fellow believers can worship, pray, and grow in their relationships in Christ together.

Followers of Christ join together in localized bodies or local churches in order to live out the life of a disciple.

Salvation
We believe that salvation is a gift received through repentance toward God and faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

EVANGELISM

It is the duty of every born again follower and church to make disciples of all people everywhere. It is the command of Christ for every believer to seek to bring the lost to Christ by sharing and proclaiming the gospel of Christ.

BAPTISM AND THE LORD'S SUPPER
We believe in baptism by immersion in water as a proclamation of faith and an experience of fellowship with Christ in HIs death and resurrection. We believe in the observation of the Lord’s Supper as a proclamation of Christ’s work and Kingdom until He returns.
